Help lt 35 won't start after bump start

Help. I joined the forum looking for good advice. new to Lts and first vw ever for me. I left it for 3 weeks over Christmas. Went to start it. Turned over but not enough. Dropped it into neutral and bumped it down a hill, it fired and ran but had no throttle response. I called recovery. He tow started me and again it started but no throttle. We let the battery charge and turned it off. Then nothing on the starter at all. Now fully charged battery. Nothing on the key but battery charged. Really confused. Has its little brain or immobiliser got scrambled or is this a simple case of bad luck 2 problems out of the blue at once. Maybe the starter got mashed in the bump start but doesn't explain the lack of throttle. Or is this the ecu gone mental with a flat battery. Mechanical or mental. Any one else had problems stemming from a flat battery or bump start. As I say first lt. First ecu van. All my older vans this would not be complicated. Confused. Thanks

The ECU immobiliser fitted at the factory does not prevent the starter turning but it could be aftermarket, there are many variables at work here.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.
