    VW Golf Emissions issue

    Good morning
Firstly apologies if this is the incorrect forum as new here?!

We own a VW Golf TDI which up until its emissions update worked like clock work, unfortunately approximately 18months ago the car was called for it's update, and since this we have had nothing but issues: ie: engine management light continuously coming on and electric light along with other issues, and so much so we had to pay over 200 last year for various things, however my concern is that since the emissions update we have had nothing but issues, when prior to this the car ran like clockwork and was so smooth!

Today I have spoken with VW customer service, who I had spoken with 3 months ago, and was informed we would have a case manager! still waiting for this.

My question, if this is allowed has anyone else had similar issues, we have now got the car booked in for yet another diagnostic test, which the garage are plannng on charging us 118 really not happy about this. Can anyone advice or give any advise in relation to this issue.

This morning we have also been looking at values of our vehicle, some sites of which have stated value unavailable for this vehicle at this time? Why? All advice and comments would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thank you for reading.

    Regards

There are thousands of cases where the car has been screwed up by this stupid recall, the advice of this forum is to not have it done, there is no rule that says you have to. VW dealers are not able to remove this daft "update", you will have to pay for this to be done independently. You don't specify which model the car is but the one most affected seems to be the Golf 6 1.6 TDI.

Her car spec says: 62 plate Golf 2.0 TDI.

If she reads the letters sent out (I've had 7 of them) the 2.0 TDI is a software update. The 1.6 TDI is a mod to the intake which takes a bit longer.

The air intake mod is a "flow straightener" as VW put it, I call it the tea strainer.
