Question 2003 1.9TDi Caddy can i put AHU ecu in ALH?

I have a 2003 MK2 caddy 1.9TDi with engine code ALH and the ECU is toast. I can get another 1.9Tdi for bits but its an AHU engine code. Can i use the ECU from the AHU in my ALH if so what will i need to change over? apart from the obvious Imob stuff. Need a reply the sooner the better as going to pick this other van up soon if its any use.

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

The engine swap is relatively easy, you can't swap ecu's from different vehicles without you do a lot of coding changes with VAG-COM\VCDS.

I was not aware however i will nip along there and make myself known. yeah wasn't keen on doing an engine swap as don't really have time was hoping ECU swap would of been relatively easy, considering they are both 1.9TDi 90 Bhp i was assuming there couldn't bee too much differences involved in changing over ecu

ECU's are so model, year and specification specific that is is almost impossible to play around with numbers, what you buy must match what VW say is possible.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.
