    Misfire Scirocco 2.0 TSI

    Hi all,

    I am currently pulling my hair out and need your help, desperately.

    I have a miss fire on cylinder 2. On tick over you can feel the car shaking slightly where the car is miss firing and under load the car hesitates. Anyway, i have taken the following steps to fix it.

    -Swap plugs around (No change)
    -Install new plugs.
    -Swap coils around (no different or change in cylinder miss fire)
    -Changed injector on cylinder 1 & 2 (originally diagnosed wrong as cylinder 1 by family mechanic)

    When the plugs were changed the plug in cylinder 2 was burning white (lean) yet the other plugs were the normal healthy darker colour.

    From this, i have done a carbon detox in desperation.

    Now my car is still in the garage racking up the money. Today they did a compression test which came back positive and was fine.

    i'm now completely lost with what to do. Can someone point me in the right direction? Anything to try?

    The car is a 2010 Scirocco 200bhp.

    It needs some time spent looking at the measuring block data to get a feel for what is going on or to go on the VAG system ODIS under Guided Fault Finding which COULD help point a mechanic in the right direction, I get a feeling the fault has been passed by during this and not seen.

    Not really, it just confirms what you have said but it also gives you away as using illegal cloned VCDS. You need to use the Measuring Blocks 08 function and look at the values right the way through to around 100 BUT you need to know what you are looking at which is too difficult for me to explain here. Around 015 you Will find the misfires values and 030>040 lambda info. Depending on the cloned version you may or may not have pop up boxes with info but being as legal VCDS is on version 17.8.0, 12.12.3 was a LONG time ago!

    I have just had a 2010 A3 quattro come in with non starting and the engine was full of petrol in number 2. We took the injector out and found it was stuck open. If you have a CAWB or CCZB engine, look at the injectors to see if they are part number 06H 906 036 G. If they are, replace them with a Bosch 0 261 500 162 or VW 06H 906 036 P. The VW parts system states "STOP!" and then gives the stores person advice something along the lines of, "if you have 06H 906 036 G in stock, throw them away and do not use them".
