    Front suspension lower arm bush

I have a 2014 Tiguan 2wd which is just coming up to 3 years old and having done 28k miles. It has been into the main dealership, where I purchased the car new from, for it's first MOT and although it has passed it received an advisory that both the front suspension lower arm bushes have split.
Should this be covered under the original 3 year warranty as the dealership are saying that this is classed as wear and tear and wish to charge me 442.22 for the privilege of replacing them?

You will find that rubber parts are not covered under warranty schemes. As for the price I'd suggest you try a reputable independent garage.

These bushes are referred to "consul bushes" and they are hopelessly unreliable so we always fit the Powerflex versions and we use those for the Polo/Ibiza 9N as they are softer and easier to install.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

The bushes are pressed out, and pressed back in, so will need access to hydraulic press or maybe an alternative method as seen on you tube.

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

These bushes won't come under the VW 3 year warranty.

don't worry, I am not going anywhere!

    name is Alan.

thanks for the replies. I have bought some poly bushes to fit my existing suspension. I have just bought the car and its had its 1st mot. advisories were these suspension parts on both sides. as you mentioned and VW told me, they are not covered. car is still under VW warranty, but I will get to fit these poly bushes. I have a hydraulic press in my workshop so that's not a problem.
