Touran Tailgate Lock

Hi

Wondering if anyone can help? My tailgate wont stay closed. Tried with a screw driver to operate the latch, the latch moves and clicks as it would around the catch but doesnt feel firm as if the tailgate switch has failed. What do poeple think?

Possibly a leaking rear wiper motor (where the washer fitting connects) dropping water onto the unit.

I have exactly the same problem (i think) the tailgate lock and Rear wiper do not work. The tailgate brake light works fine.....did you manage to fix your problem

i also encountered this kind of problem on my tailgate. i had to replace all the handle. try to clip into the handle mechanism and if they were connected with latch down they may not move enough to allow latch to lock completely.
