View Full Version : mk4 golf 1.4 16v - any simple power gains?
the only mod i've done to my engine so far, is fit a k&n panel filter and a supersport stainless steel exhaust system. the engine breathes a lot better but is there anything else that can squeeze a few more horses out of this engine (maybe a chip and a remap?) wihtout spending over £500 and still maintaining a factory look?
Any more changes and you will run into ECU calibration trim window problems as these engines are very sensitive, even just gas flowing the head could trip it up. I am surprised you haven’t already had the engine check light come on due to a lambda error already.
not much you can do with a 1.4 im affraid, i had one and got fed up with the 75hp all the time, if you want more power it'll be a new car im affraid
