Can anyone advise me how to remove the plastic cover infront of the windscreen that I believe will give me access to the pollen filter on my 03 Sharan. It appears to be held down by the two plastic trims that fit under the wiper arms?
That job is a nightmare. The cover is held in with M6 bolts and then slides out but that is the easy bit, getting the old filter out isn't so bad as you aren’t worried about damaging them but getting the new one in... Whoever designed that set up needs a good seeing to with a rough stick!
Bit lost here, perhaps i am looking at the wrong bit.
Is the plastic cover that needs removing the one with the viewing spectacle in the front face. This cover fits between both wiper arms and appears to be held down by the cover panels under the wiper arms. It is free to slide side to side but not enough to get one end clear from under the side plastic covers.
Where are these M6 bolts located as I can't see any
It's what VW call a "sound absorber for water box” and it is the plastic tray under your nose when you open the bonnet. It isn't an easy thing to describe; it may be easier getting the dealer to change the filter.
