    MK1 Golf Diesel Footwell

Hello everyone there are 2 nice looking Golf MK1's in someone's drive and I have left a note to because they were not in at the time. The only trouble is that I'm not sure what one to buy. The one on the left's foot-well is FILLED with water (rusty)but has a better condition body. But the one on the right has a better condition interior (no water) but has rusty arches etc. Any help? Looking for a restoration project (my dad is helping me fund it and psychically help build it as he knows lots about cars and wants to drive it too.Click image for larger version.

Also forgot to say the one on the right (petrol) has a messed up grill/light but will be an easy buy/fix.

The water will be due to debris blocking the drains in each corner of the plenum chamber under the bonnet so water fills it up and pours in through the heater intake, or someone has left the cover off of the heater intake but put it this way, after 33 years of welding rusty VW's, a water leak is a **** site easier to fix than rusty arches. Yes, you can get single headlight Golf 1 grills, the original twin headlight Mk1 GTI grill is rarer than a 10 year old virgin on an inner city housing estate....

Thanks, really appreciate it. I've also just realised how my first post didn't make any sense so I apologise.
