    2012 Touran 2.0 into 2014 Caddy ,1.6 both diesel.

    Ok I am a Jaguar mech,but as the header states,i want to change my manual 1.6 caddy maxi to a 2.0 auto ,anyone done this....?

    Yes it can be done but the costs would be insane, you would need a complete donor car such as Caddy Highline, Golf Plus or Touran which use the same architecture as the Caddy so it would make more sense to just go and buy one, the is a Highline on Autotrader for 12k and you could get 7 for yours, converting yours will take far more than 5K and it will never be worth as much as a proper one.

    Sorry should have made myself clearer.....I have damaged1.6, 2014 caddy maxi.i have bought a damaged (rear end)2012 touran 2.0 diesel auto.I have already stripped the caddy.Cheers for the reply crasher.

    It should be pretty much a direct swap, use the dash, wiring harness and ECU from the Touran. To help with electrical issues that you WILL come across, you should get yourself a proper legal and registered VCDS cable to work with a lap top, this will be an invaluable aid. It can't do everything by pretty much all you will need. Obviously you won't be using the Touran rear suspension but the ABS will have the nice feature of ESP which I imagine the Caddy doesn't have so that may mean a little recoding.

    Could you point me in the right direction for a VDCS,seen some on ebay,but do not want to buy a crap one....cheers.

    There is a lot more to it than that, you will have a CAYD or E engine but what is the donor engine code and the ECU part number?

    the engine code is cfhc not sure about the ecu. but the immobiliser has been deactivated so i can use my key??? do you know if this is any good for me??
