Question 1.2TSi VW Polo 2015 Front Fog Lights

    Hi Guys,

I have a quick question about front fog lights and daytime driving lights on my 2015 1.2TSi Polo SE.

Firstly does my Polo have front fog lights or are they replaced by daytime driving lights? Additionally when I have my rear fog lights on my front daytime driving lights turn off, is this correct or is there a fault with my vehicle? It seems silly to turn off the daytime driving lights when in fog as they enhance visibility.

I would really appreciate any advice you have on this subject as this is my first car and I have very little knowledge about cars.

    Thanks

The DRL's have to turn off with the fog lights. The system you have I am not too sure of, if you PM me your reg number I can look up the features.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

If you have front fog lights, your light switch will have 2 pull out positions, the first for front fogs, the second for both front and rear. If there is only one pull out position, I'm afraid you don't have front fogs, only rears (which unlike fronts are a legal requirement)

Rear fogs can only be switched on with front headlights on, these "trump" the DRL functionality, as they are brighter.
