Angry Angry URGENT HELP. 2008 Tiguan 1.4 petrol.

Hi everyone. Completely new here and desperate for advice. I have 2008 Tiguan 1.4. Engine management light came on and started juddering when driving. Took it to garage changed coil and spark plugs I think as it was saying problem with cylinder 4. Anyway long story short garage have done this twice. Cleared it and as soon as it drives it comes back on again. Garage saying canít establish whatís wrong but probably going to cost a fortune. Looking for some advice on what to do as I am in a bad situation as need a car as I have a baby but also canít afford to spend thousands. Also made the vital mistake of getting a second hand car with a loan so I really am in a hole. Any help would be appreciated as I think the garages just think because Iím woman Iíll accept what they say and my bill ian rising. Thanks again.

You need a compression test carrying out, those engines are prone to burning out exhaust valves if run on cheap 95RON fuel all their lives.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

Post move to correct section as OP can't read sub forum titles.

Hi Keith apologies for not posting in the correct area. Not sure how I move it? Update compression check completed. Not the problem. Car running fine when first started. Now showing faults on all cylinders. Garage say faulty wiring loom? Unsure as to what this means again? Thanks for all help.
