PCP finance and paying in full in the first 14 days for discounts.

Hi, I have just ordered a T-Roc which I wanted to pay cash in full. I was advised by several dealers, sales men and the dealer finance manager to buy on PCP and pay the full amount to VW finance within 14 days of me collecting the car.
This way I was given an extra 500 discount and two year services free.
Has anyone on here did this and is there any negatives in doing this?
    Thanks in advance.

I don’t know about what you are being advised to do but I am of the opinion that the PCP bubble is about to go bang in a BIG way. I suspect the sales people’s advice is more commission inspired in their favour than helping you.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

There’s no problem or negative effect to you paying off within the cooling off period. I’ve done it with my last 3 new VWs. Just telephone VWfinance and say that you have changed your mind and wish to use your own capital and they will give you the account details for you to make payment to. Even if you choose to pay it off a week or two after that you simply get a settlement figure and you’ll only pay interest for the short period that you had their money. And yes you keep all the benefits you got for taking the finance initially.

That's brilliant and thanks for resting my mind! I was worried about this as you just have to trust the sales men but you have done it a few times without problems and I will do the same a few days after i collect the car.

When I bought my golf the dealer suggested that I financed 5k via vw finance and then settle. This would get me 2 free services.I did and it cost me about 50 in charges but in return I got services worth over 400.Had first service recently and sure enough it was free. This was with vw finace and was hp not a pcp.
