So to make sure I've answered right. I disconnected the battery removed the old switch and fitted the new 1.

I didn't have the pedal down at the time of doing this and 5he hand brake was off aswell. Bit the brake lights are still on. Also when the key is out of the ignition.

The lights do go off obviously when the switch is removed .

Checked the fuses and they are all ok.

I'm puzzled now and spent hours looking through the internet for answers but nothing.

    Any help much appreciated again

Also now I have driven 5 mins down the road the epc light is back on again. Do does this mean the switch has failed again? The lights are on aswell still.

It sounds like you fitted it the correct way for a genuine switch which is pedal up, not pressed so now we need to look at the switch, what make and part number is it plus, I know it’s odd, the colour.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.
