Caddy Gearbox replacement.
Hello to all,
I have a 2007 Caddy 2.0 SDI thats destroyed the gearbox, locked up at 70mph. Clutch works, lots of noise coming fromt he gearbox, no drive other than lurching and no gear change unless you are brutal so its a good bet the box is knackered.
My engine/gearbox code are BST/JJS, my question is will a HHN gearbox fit, reason for asking is I have been offered one and been told the gearbox mount and starter motor need changing.
If this could be confirmed to be correct that would be awesome.
Cheers in advance and I am hoping to be of assistance to some one else in the future

Physically they would fit the difference with transmission/gearbox codes is they can have different ratios. I don't know the gearbox type of your Caddy, Golf 0AF Gearbox.

Thank you Keithuk for the quick reply, I have checked the gearbox ratio's and the HHN box is higher ratios which will suit my use of the van.
Box paid for, now waiting for delivery.
I will post and update when fitted

The HHN is for the 2004>2006 Golf 5 2L SDI with a BDK engine, it is specifically only used in that model.
The JJS is (1) 3.45 (2) 1.95 (3) 1.28 (4) 0.93 (5) 0.74 (FD) 4.68
The HHN is (1) 3.45 (2) 1.95 (3) 1.28 (4) 0.93 (5) 0.74 (FD) 4.68
The bell housing used on the JJS is different to the HHN, 0AH 301 107 F as opposed to 0AF 301 107 C, the input shaft is the same though. I THINK you are going to find the block bolt pattern is different but keep us posted.

Vile Invention
Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

Hello again, so after a few weeks and a few miles I can confirm the HHN has replaced the JJS gearbox and is bolted onto my BST engine.
I didnt do the work so cant comment on anything hands on but I know the driveshafts and flywheel from the HHN were used, the starter motor and gearbox mount were the same as used with the JJS.
Its a thinner & lighter flywheel so there is a slight difference in driving but it seems more suitable for my usage.
