    Eos with DSG

As title really, I'm thinking of looking for a nice clean Eos, must have Dsg. Looking to spend around 6500, my daily commute is only 8 miles each way. Does this make the 2.0 CR DPF a none option?(I love my present Jetta Sport BKD/DSG- none DPF. Or should I only consider the Petrol Turbo FSI?. Aside from which engine, there's also the internet scare stories of roof/boot leaks etc, are they as bad as the interweb makes out?

The roof's are so evil to work on and cause so much trouble that we have decided to not work on them. If you are keeping the car a few years and have to drive into any city proposing a low emissions zone, make sure it it a Euro 6 diesel, as far as I know all petrol engined Eosssuususssi are EU5> compliant so not affected.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

Well, that's killed my pig then I really like the compact 'roof up' Eos Sport, but it sounds like more trouble than it's worth and a possible 'money pit' whichever engined version I'd go for. A shame really as I really fancied one

    Sorry Crasher,
Went and bought one, fancied one for a long time for the roof up/compact/sporty coupe type thing. Hopefully!! found a nice one with Full VW SH including Belt/W Pump x 2, DSG Oil/Filter @ 42,000m, Roof Service @37000m, Running BWA? Golf GTi petrol engine.

The BWA is an EA113 engine so it has a timing belt, the timing chain version is the EA888 with a four digit ID code such as CCZB for 2010 onwards, personally I would have a late EA113 over an early EA888 anyway, timing chains and oil consumption problems.
