    Oil dipstick guide removal

    Hello!

As mentioned in the title I'm wondering how do I remove the oil dipstick guide altogether. I have to fix an oil cooler leak and I need more space to be able to remove the bolts holding the oil cooler housing to the block.

    Thanks in advance
    Best regards

The steel base tube of the dipstick guide is pressed into the block, to remove this you use a drift punch (10mm diameter if I remember correctly) and this is done from below with the sump removed, care needs to be taken or the block can be cracked.... The tube has to be replaced once removed or it’s fit is loose, part number 06D 103 634 E at 14.09.

How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

    Hi!

Took a closer look at the oil cooler housi g today and it looks like it can be done without removing the guide tube. Fortunatelly, as I got a bit nervous reading Crasher' post above 😂.

    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards
