    The injector was leaking, instead of faffing about with seals I just got a 2nd hand inlet manifold, was only 15.

    Thanks,I suppose the clue was "loud hissing noise that comes from around the injectors"

    You used to be able to buy injector seals, I don't know if you still can. You don't know how good this 2nd hand inlet manifold is, its just pot luck.

    The thing is on vacuum leaks on manifolds you can use a propane/butane gas cylinder with a rubber pipe attached to the nozzle, and squirt it around the manifold and listen to the engine speed. If it increases then you have a vacuum leak. Then you have to find exactly where from injectors or gasket.
