    Thanks for your quick response. They told me in December it's not fixable. How bizarre that they would then offer to buy my car back at retail price, surely they'd be out of pocket doing that? I just don't understand why they won't return my calls or answer my emails, I've been nothing but patient with them. The car is still under warranty, I'm worried they are just trying to ignore me until November when it runs out.

    Either take them up on the buyback offer or take it to an independent VAG group specialist, you will have to pay the going rate but if they can fix it, you can ask VW UK to pay the bill.

    I've messaged my local independent this morn, see what they say about it. I want them to buy it back to be honest though, I've got no faith in the car. I wanted a reliable car for my on-call shifts, but that's not what I've got. My main difficulty is getting a reply from the dealership at the moment :/ Thank you for your help!
