    Rusty rear arch.

Got a 2016 GTI 3 door. Just noticed the near side rear wheel arch is rusty on the lip all the way round and this is spreading to the outer face. Car not 3 years old till next month. 16k miles. We bought it from VW main dealer at 12months old. Gutted to say the least. Got to take it to a body shop for apprasal. Hopefully the corrosion warranty will cover it but I bet they try and wiggle out.

That's not good. That will be covered under the warranty for sure. That is as long as there is no damage anywhere on the arch or previous paintwork repairs, or that will be blamed.

No damage and no repairs while we've had it. If the VW main dealer sold us a damage repaired car surely they should be liable that it's now rotting like a 70s Fiat?

That MUST have had some work done, I had a 2017 GTI Club Sport in today for a downpipe and remap and you could see the left front had been painted.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

Well it's been fixed under warranty at a VW approved body shop. No explanation as to why it rusted tho. Got it back today. Good job as well. However the car will be sold soon. I don't trust it now and despite the body shops assurances to the contrary I'm convinced it will be rusting again in a year or 2. So bye bye GTI.

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Your car spec says 0, only what I've added from this post.

Keep taking it back to VW until its fixed.
