    Polo 9n sdi

    Help*

My son has bout a Polo 9N SDI with 120000 miles on. It was a bit smokey apperantly when he bought it. I now have it here on my drive and it smokes on idle and has a neat smoke screen trick when you drive it. I know they arnt the most powerful things but this struggles at the sight of a hill. Mechanically its sound and body is spot on.
When you do drive it the diesel rattle increases to much louder levels along with the smoke screen.*
Oh and airbag light is on with a fault.
I've changed oil air and fuel filters but it hasnt helped one jot. \egr valve looks clean and its showing a few error codes. Where do I start with this ? Cheers

OK, then check wiring to N18 valve (on firewall I should think) just in case its fault is having some knock-on effect.

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Your car spec says 0, only what I've added Polo 9N SDI.

We need to know the exact year and engine size as SDI doesn't help that much.

Which fuse and relay layout have you used Google?

Cheers Peter I'll try track that down tonight after work.

Sorry Keith if my over exuberance to solve a issue has led me to miss procedure. In personal experience I find that good helpful forums you tend to stick around. I've been a member of a tech one over 27 years even done the moderator role and will always return help where I find it as much as I can

As for electrics it's all voodoo and magic pixie dust to me I'm more a spanner money why hasn't it a straight forward fault lol

It says ASY for engine code, right? As far as I know a 9n Polo SDI is always the 1.9 litre ASY, so you did tell us enough.
What year it is you can tell us from the Reg number. 2002, judging by the VIN in the VCDS results.
