Hi I'm Nick and have a daft question!

I've just bought a mk 7.5 golf and want to know what screen wash is ok to use!
I've read many stories of using non vw products and jets getting clogged up and garage saying it's the owners problem for not using vw oem product.

There must be a non oem product that is safe to use?

    Many thanks,

    Nick

For 50 years I used tap water and never had an issue.
There are many opinions nowadays that it isn't a great idea, some say it is fine (dependant on the water in their area probably) and others use only VW approved. Personally I have found that it isn't as expensive as it appears and after initially getting a few free bottles I have decided to keep using it rather than Halford's special brew.....just in case.

Just avoid the real cheap stuff, I like Wurth screen wash but that will be difficult for you to obtain, one of my lady customers gets positively excited about it and washes her screen far more than she needs to.... I also like the Shell ready mixed variety but it is very expensive

Which presumably is why you keep encouraging her to use it...

Good idea to flush out with warm water. Ive been using the apple stuff from halfords for quite a few years
NOT a good idea to use water on its own because of health issues

    Welcome to the forum Nick.

Its nice to see you made an intro on your own.

Your car spec says 0, only what I've added from this post.

Can I suggest that you add your car spec to your signature as it will save users asking every time, if you know the engine code that will also be great? Oh you can't do this of a phone. Adding your car spec
