Vw golf 1.4. - glove box clicking noise

Hi, i hope someone can help me.
Ive had my golf for 5 years now and its been 1 year now since i been having problems with my battery! I dont drive much so it sits there and sometimes when i go and start it, the battery is flat so i jump start it and then no problem. But recently i noticed it does that even after 2/3 days of not used, which doesnt sound right! I thought i should change the battery but when i took it to halford and kwikfit, they said battery is perfect! I was even told
That the alternator is ok! So here i am still puzzled! I do have a after market system in there but ive had tht for over 4 years and not been a problem.

Anyway, recently i was sitting in my car, when its been working fine. I had parked up and car turned off! I was sitting there for 20mins as in my phone! 15mins after u turned the car off, i hear a strange clicking sound coming from the grovebox..... very annoying as the car is totally off! It left on doing that for 30mins and i couldnt figure it out! I switched the car on and off again and it had gone! But after 15mins of being off it was back again!

My friend thinks that is what is killing the battery but we cant be sure what that clicking noise it

To make it easier i managed to film it and show anyone that can give me some idea or clue of what it could be

Please could someone help or advice?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards goran

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Your car spec says 0, is this your Golf 1.4 or are you trying to fix this problem for someone else?

Its hard to hear any clicking noise from the glove box in that video.

That will be a fault with an air conditioning system flap motor, they strip their plastic gears but the position senor inside gives the controller the wrong info so it keeps running trying to put it in rest position so a scan of the HVAC will probaly show an air re-circulation motor flap problem, G71 code I think.

Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (G71)

Positioning Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) a typo by Crasher.

I don't see how either of those components draining the battery with the ignition off unless they are shorted to earth. Battery drain is common its normally the CAN Bus which you can Google.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

    VAG Error Code: 01274

    Fault Location:
Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) - No or Incorrect Basic Setting/Adaptation/Blocked or No Voltage/Lower Limit Exceeded/Mechanical Failure/Faulty

    Possible Cause:
    Wiring/Connector(s).
Positioning Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) blocked.
Positioning Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) faulty.
    Check mechanical condition of components.

    Possible Solutions:
    Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s).
Check Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71).
    Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).
    Perform Output Test.
    Perform Basic Setting.

As taken from my new EOBD II Fault Codes Software
