The harness to sort this out is now obsolete but I cannot see what the problem is, it could be easy to sort out with some spare parts but you need someone who knows what they are doing. I am still shocked that the air bag deployed...

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

I would not recommend it, VW Classic in Germany have the harness, item 1 https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts...tz-dfd2d0.html

ok, for what I'm seeing I have to dissemble almost all the driver side interior is that right? Is not that big of a problem but I thought it was just a wire, but after connecting everything I've heard that I need to bring the car to official vw to connect the "new" airbag to my car, is this true? or I can use vag com?
I want to be sure, I don't plan on bringing my car to an official dealer to spend houndreds of euros more...

What still concerns me is why the air bag deployed. I would be very wary even with the new harness as I know early Golf 4 air bag ECU's had problems. You can do all you need to with VCDS but if I was doing this job there is no way I would re-use the original air bag ECU. https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/vw...s.html#Airbags

Hello, I'm sorry for those months of silence I've been very busy these months working two jobs and studying so I had to leave my golf sleeping for a while... now I started repairing it again and want to fix this airbag issue... So I read all the ross tech post, and checked the airbag ECU in my car and it's indeed the 6Q0-909-605-A, the faulty or buggy one, this means I should get a *new* second hand ECU, so this one should be good: 6Q0-909-605-B? I'm going to contact to guy to check if any airbag has exploded with that ecu.
Is there any way that I can fix the cable before buying the whole harness? It's too much money... can't I just solder it?

You should not repair the harness according to VW, if it was carrying 700+ volts into the seat, would you repair it?

I have another problem that is kinda weird:

Also, at the video I have lights on, and door open and no buzzer... What could be the problem here? Could be related to the short in the vcds fault codes?
As for the airbag, I'm looking for a scrapyard/junkyard (don't know how to say it in english xD) mk4 to look for a harness in condition.
