That will mean a new wheel bearing and possibly sender. These are easy for any accomplished garage or VAG specialist to do and you don't need to use the 156.28 genuine bearing kit as you can get kits from other companies such as F.A.G, Febi, SKF and dozens more. The sensor may be damaged by the wheel bearing magnetic ring rubbing on it but again aftermarket these are quite reasonable. This is an A6 set up but the design is very similar, the magnetic ring is indicated.

The worst part of the job can be getting the bearing to come out of the hub as even though they are bolted in, they become solidly corroded in the hub and have to be forced out.

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

Hey Keith, Sorry for late reply - Yes I still drive the Golf GTD, but we recently purchased a Seat Alhambra (which is effectively the same technology as VW Sharan) And as I already had a forum account here; I though it would be easier to get everyone's expertise and experience

What year is this Seat Alhambra? It maybe the same chassis as a Sharan but there will be a lot of differences.

I've added this to your signature for reference.

Hey Crasher, Yes - I bought an F.A.G one off ebay for half the price and had my local mechanic fit it in - all errors gone after driving it off the ramp!!
