I know it's illegal to tamper/disable anything to do with the emissions but I've just been told by a bag specialist that he can delete them from the software. It's tempting to be honest.

But it WILL make the car vibrate at shut down and you have no way to stop it should you get a runaway. People who offer this sort of service should be prosecuted.

Yeah I know the car vibrates when down but the vibrations I'm getting are a really rough at idle it's even worse after its been for a run. I know the emo is and it's due to the ASV being knackered. I think I need to get the car in for a scan on vcds to see what faults it can find. It's to the point in considering sending it up the road and buying a 2.8 4motion mkIV or a 2.3 v5 golf estate.

The 2.8 4M is great, the 2.3 is OK but avoid the auto. Make sure the one you buy is EU4 emissions certified.

Aye my mate has a 2.8 4m and it's goes like s**t of a stick. Love the noise of it . All it had is a straight pipe. What's wrong with the 2.3? Also what's with the euro 4?? Only reason I'm considering a 2.3 is I'm not sure If I can get a 2.8 4m golf estate?

You won't find a 2.8 estate, they only came in 2.3 right hand drive. The 2.3 is pretty slow but it sounds nice, the 1.8T can be taken way over the 170PS of the 2.3 and uses far less fuel plus the 2.3 Aisin Warner box is dreadful and costs a fortune to fix. Don't even think about the 10v 2.3, some parts are getting hard to get and silly money.

I thought that. Only reason I'm considering petrol is the fact my commute is 10mins in the morning and my car sits in the car park all day and 20 mins home again. And most weekends it won't move from Friday tea time until Monday morning again as I'm in the lorry most of the day. Plus I was looking at 1.8t . At this poi t in my live I don't need anything fast I just love the noise of them.
