We just use Quantum Platinum Plus from TPS, I find it odd that VAG UK TPS depots push Quantum like crazy yet the dealers don't use it, even when it was made by Castrol and is the same oil! It is now made by Fuchs. We stock 205 barrels of LongLife 3 and Platinum Plus, in fact we have three barrels of LL3 in stock as I thought the one in the dispenser cabinet was getting low so I told the office but it turned out it wasn't that low... but I ordered a barrel and so did the office so now I have 410 litres unopened... and a full barrel of PP...

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

VW Citygate left a message on my answerphone, after I queried. "Sir we will be using Castrol Professional and this will be covered on your service plan" (at no charge) . VW's reputation for 'trustworthyness' continues (leaving the emissions aside) - nearly lost 28!

The thing with calling it "professional" makes the lower grades look like "enthusiast" and "amateur".

Juyst to report back on this, following my car's first service (@~8000 miles) , The dealer - after a struggle did use Castrol Professional Motor Oil, I thought the difference in mpg would be trivial but its not. I regularly do a 25 mile journey part motoway and part urban, on this journey I get 49 mpg in my 1.5 blue motion M7 2018 Golf. Now I am getting 53-54 mg which are figures I have never seen. It does feel that there is a difference, I think the engine is a little quieter as well. It will take a few more miles to be sure.

VW dealers should fit VW recommended oil - not cheap alternatives - a scam is a scam. VW recommend Castrol Professional - they should fit it

And yet why does their spares side TPS ram Quantum down everyone's throats? OK when it was Castrol so what but now it is Fuchs, hypocrisy more than a scam.
