    Golf Plus MK5 MFSW retrofit

    Dear all,

i have a 2007 Golf Plus MK5 1.4 TSI DSG without multifunction steering wheel (MFSW) and I want to replace the steering wheel with MK5 MFSW. Does anyone have experience on this?

i have run VCDS and my current control module is 1K0953549AP SW 0070 type 2 software coding 0010042. This is a midline control module with cruise control.

I am wondering if highline control module 1K0953549CH SW0111 type 2 is a good fit for this case plus MFSW cable 5K0971584C. Are the above enough along with relevant coding of the new unit on the VCDS program?

    Thank you

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

VAG-COM\VCDS may show part numbers on the log file but it doesn't say they are correct.

Look for the correct part number on https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/ keep this in your favorites/bookmarks for reference. As it will save me checking ETKA.

Post moved to correct section as OP can't read sub forum titles.

    Thank you for your response,

after checking all these links the following should be ordered:

1)Highline control module 1K0953549CH SW0111 type 2: same type 2 slip ring, steering angle sensor with 1K0953549AP that i currently have. The differences are that CH is SW0111 vs SW 0070 and CH supports 1.3(MK5)/2.0(MK6) vs no LIN version. According to myturbodiesel.com post, the control module version difference doesn't matter as long as it supports MSFW.
2)wire harness MFSW cable 1K0971584C 3)Steering wheel 1K0419091 with the 2005.5 button set as the 2006-2009 buttons set will not be supported in my case (MFD+ is required)
4)Relevant change of the control module code with VCDS

Do you agree with the above?

Without checking your part number in Steering Wheel Control Module Versions

I can't really say. Do you have access to VAG-COM\VCDS?

    Hi Keithuk,

yes i have access to VCDS. I did a scan and my steering wheel control module is 1K0953549AP:
Control Module Part Number Slip Ring Software Level Variant Steering Angle Sensor LIN Version Notes
    1K0-953-549-AP Type 2 SW 0070 Midline Yes - -
    1K0-953-549-CH Type 2 SW 0111 Highline Yes 1.3 & 2.0 -

So the CH module is same type and supports MSFW. The difference is in the SW version 0111 vs 0070 (different coding will be needed).
