    MK4 Polo Stereo Unit

    Hey Guys,

What are your thoughts on the best stereo unit for a 2007 VW Polo?

I've been looking at a few on here: http://caraudiosecurity.com/car-ster...r-pioneer/pg-3

    Looking at: http://caraudiosecurity.com/deh-s410...android-stereo

But not sure if it's fully compatible.

    Thanks in advance!

A double DIN would make more sense.

The 9N3 can have a single or double DIN sized unit if you take away the cubby hole used with single DIN units. Saying DIN is an abbreviation for Deutsches Institut für Normung which in English is the German Institute for Standardisation and refers to their standard DIN 75490 which is now intentional standard ISO7736 so a double DIN is two singles stacked on top of each other so a 180 x 50 mm or 180 x 100.3 mm opening size but there is no depth standard so you need to know what you have and that what you buy is not too deep.

Thanks for the info. Much clearer now.

Thinking out loud here, i've looked into Double and single DINs over the weekend and the Doubles do look great but my concern would be it's a fixed unit and can easily be stolen whereas a lot of single dins allow you to remove the face unit when you've left the car.

Otherwise I do agree, the double din units look ace!

Am I right in saying that all I need is:

    - An installation kit like the kit here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Single-or...9/270799345089
    - Removal keys like these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autoleads-P.../dp/B004Z7IW3Q
    - A double or Single Din of my choice that is compatible with this car (Any suggestions on a good double din?)

    Thanks in advance!

Car radio theft seems to be pretty rare these days, I hardly ever see it and my DD in my Octavia is fixed but it is a good point and a valid concern.

I've searched a lot on the website before posting this and just want someone to confirm I have all the right info before I go ahead and order everything, please!

    - Single DIN: https://www.halfords.com/technology/car ... car-stereo

    - Installation kit: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270799345089?ul_noapp=true

    - Removal keys: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autoleads-P.../dp/B004Z7IW3Q

    - Do I need a fuse tap for the radio to work? (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ADD-A-CIRCUI ... 3a9789c72d)

Is this everything I need and are they all compatible?

No you don't need that fitting kit, that is for a Golf 5 non standard DIN aperture to convert it to standard DIN and convert the wiring, the Polo 9N is much easier, a standard 2xDIN should plug in and work after fitting the cage.
