    As Sam says...

I've seen reports that the Touran and SV will be merged into a single replacement with a choice of either 5 or 7 seats and a decent sized boot. (Presumably a similar sized car to the Skoda Kodiaq, but still an MPV style rather than an SUV, and longer than the present Touran.)

My sources are pretty reliable and agree with what you say.
Hope you both are well over there.
    Best regards

All manufacturers seem to be moving from MPVs to SUVs now due to customer demand (or lack of...)

Ford are apparently stopping production of their B-Max, C-Max & S-Max; and Peugeot turned their 3008 and 5008 cars into Crossovers/SUVs at the last redesign. I've also heard that BMW will not be replacing their 2 Series Active Tourers either.

So the last ones standing will be the SV and Mercedes B Series soon.

When I bought my Golf Plus and Golf SV, the Tiguan seemed very expensive in comparison. It's still more money, but the gap seems to be shrinking to me, and it has a lot of desirable options that you can't get on the SV (although inexplicably the SV can have a heated windscreen while the Tiguan can't!)

However in the present political climate I'm not interested in placing a factory order for a new car when I don't know what import tariffs will get added on by the time it's built! So my ever-reliable SV will have to soldier on until next year now!

With the nightmare deepening I am not contemplating a change of socks let alone a change of car.

    There's a useful post here: https://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/sh...ad.php?t=34097
which details all the MY2020 changes... it appears the CD player has been deleted from the SV!
