Anyone bought a 1.5 TSI EVO SV Manual or DSG ?

With the 1.5 evo engines 'kangaroo' problem (car lurches forward in low gear)
has anyone had experience of this problem as keen to order only if the problem
has been fixed. VW Forums suggest it is still an issue despite a few software
    updates.

I have not experienced this in either the 1. 4 or 1.5 versions!

Seems like the issue on cars delivered Jul 2019 has not been fixed.
On a 171 page T-Roc forum cars with the very latest software fix still
exhibit the 1.5 EVO engine 'kangeroo' problem. Both 'Honest John'
and Auto Express have articles on the subject so maybe VW will get
their finger out unless they seriously want to risk reputational damage.

With the likely effect on trade in values it seems I might have
to look and spend 27k elsewhere. Bring back the 1.4Tsi.

Sadly also many complaints in the Skoda Karoq and Skoda Kodiaq forums too... and my daughter's new 1.5TSI DSG Passat has just started giving her problems as well!

I note that Skoda have stopped offering the 1.5 TSI in nearly all trim levels of the Kodiaq... because of the problems with the engine or to drive it upmarket from the Karoq I wonder??

As I buy my cars rather than lease them, I'm delaying changing my SV until I'm happy the problem has been sorted.

Same here ...delaying decision but looking at other non VW group cars.
Volvo XC40 and BMW X1 on the list but downsize is likely to be in the
31-32k range for pretty basic model and options tend to be in 800+
extra range. One of them was to get electric folding mirrors could
only get them with a 800 'pack'.
Want to also keep clear of 18" tyres and the like which are pretty
prevelant on these 'up market' cars.

Any other cars to consider (not seen much else to excite and not
    going near any 'French' cars)?

I can't find any non-VW/Skoda cars for the same price that has a big enough boot space, and the options I'm looking for.

I was wondering about the RAV4 until I discovered that their marketing logic says that if you choose a sunroof you have to do without a spare wheel!

Contacted VW Customer Care to check on latest 1.5 EVO
issue and if it is now fixed?
Response was " all new builds are now 2020 model year
and these cars will no longer have this issue"

I thnk the jury is out on this but at least it could
be promising. T-roc forum suggests Jul delivered
cars have this issue still with latest software update.
Have to decide if an 'in process' order due to be
built in 4 weeks is worth taking a chance with
but would be more than dissapointed if
above is not true and we are getting more
flannel! Past 3 fix's haven't turned out to be true!

That is reassuring, but when did MY2020 start production? Isn't it when the factories reopen at the end of August??

The current price list is still quoting details for MY2019 cars!

On the wider issue of finding a replacement for the SV, we are suffering from the problem that tall hatchbacks (MPVs or People Carriers) aren't as popular as Crossovers/SUVs throughout Europe now. I believe Ford have already stopped production of their B-Max, C-Max & S-Max, Peugeot redesigned their 3008 and 5008 cars as Crossovers, and VW are concentrating on the Tiguan, T-Cross and T-roc now - I understand the SV and Touran will be replaced by a single model with 5 or 7 seats in the same body when the time comes. And BMW seem to have agreed that their Series 2 Active Tourer and Grand Tourer were a mistake and will not be replaced (they have apparently diminished their sporting image, and would-be buyers will be pointed towards X2s or X3s instead).

I have had the 1.4 DSG and now 1.5 DSG with no issues what so ever which I honestly do not understand - to me it seems strange!
