    1.4 tsi caxa engine noise

I have a 2009 Golf 1.4 with 122PS CAXA engine. The timing chain was replaced but the inlet cam jumped one tooth. the timing is now perfect but it makes a loud noise when no2 fires. With the coil pack disconnected there is a tap coming from the inlet manifold area, does anyone know what the problem is?

No2 exhaust rockers had both come off and were sitting sideways on top of the valves, so exhaust valves were not opening at all. the nose was the engine backfiring through the inlet about every 3rd or 4th stroke.
no damage to the valves on this one, just a broken rocker clip.
