    Alloy specification

    Hi,

i have a Golf GTI with the 18 inch Austin alloys. [225/40/18]. Can anyone help with tech specs for the alloys as I want to find a different set for some winter tyres.

    Thanks.

    Take a look here

    One 2015 Golf that I looked at had options for 7.5Jx18 ET49 5x112 57.1 and 7.5Jx18 ET51 5x112 57.1 alloy rims.

However, 225/40R18 tyres have very low sidewalls which don't give your rims much protection from pothole damage. They also give a hard and crashy ride. Best not to go any more extreme than 225/45R17 in my opinion.
