VW Tiguan is so good, I haven't needed help [famous last words!]

It's been just under 12 months since I bought Tig and it has been a superb vehicle. We have taken it to France & Spain [Nov 18 until Jan 19] and then to France [end Apr 19 until end Jul 19], each time towing our Gobur Folding Caravan. Performance has been superb!

I have seen a couple of posts of what the VW canbus does when a towbar is fitted, and I believe that the system saved the car from severe damage and us from big hospital bills.

We had left the last caravan site in Spain in late January when severe windy weather was forecast; I was distracted at packdown by another caravan owner and suspect that I had not fully closed the caravan main rooflight ... About 50 miles into the journey, I caught a cross wind, the caravan snaked violently to the right and then to the left, and it felt as though the car's rear nearside wheel lifted. Just at the point when I thought the entire unit was about to roll, the safety systems regained control and we were able to continue with nothing more than a laundry problem

When we arrived at the new site, I saw from the view of the folded caravan that we had lost the main rooflight! I suspect that the wind was able to get under the vent, because I had not fully closed it, and this left a large hole that created a vortex effect inside the caravan, causing the snake and lift. I cannot prove it, but, having towed in similar weather with the vents closed properly, I have had no further dramas. So, thank you VW, for a brilliant safety system!

No other problems, apart from a supermarket dink to the front nearside door in France in the Summer. First Adblue topup after 4300 miles of driving, 75% of it towing either the caravan or my domestic trailer in France, the latter filled with Type 1 aggregate for a new parking space for the car and caravan, so it's worked quite hard.

First annual service tomorrow after about 7000 miles in 11 months [we use our Bus Passes for local trips], so fingers crossed. And then, [subject to Brexit outcome], back to France and Spain for some Winter Sun instead of a Baltic Scottish Winter

That's a long post I'm trying to find what the problem is tow bar or AdBlue.

No problems, Keith. Just that I haven't posted much since getting the car, and I was reporting how good it's been, and how pleased I am with it. I didn't want to be a 'post only when I have a problem, get free fix and clear off' merchant! I rarely make short posts; 'Never use 1 word when 18 will do ...'

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.
