    Power Steering Problem

    Evening all,

I have recently had the steering rack replaced on my 2008 Polo 1.2 and also had a leak within the power steering system fixed.
However, after about 3 weeks of driving regularly, the steering started to stiffen up and it became almost impossible to move the wheel more than about one and half turns. I took it back into the garage and they topped it up with fluid and said it should be okay. This did resolve the issue but only temporarily.

However, the problem has returned and it is worse than last time. The power steering light is not on and I have no other warning lights on.

Has anyone got an idea of what this might be?

    Thanks in advance

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

That isn't easy to diagnose on the web as we done know what has been done.

If its hydraulic power steering check the fluid level, if its low top it up with ATF.

Go back to the garage who fitted the power steering.
