Had some creaking coming from under the front of our Sharan at pull away and stopping, looking at the suspension bushes they were pretty knackered, I think this wagon spent it's life going over speed humps! I have changed three of the four bushes but couldn't see how to get the front nearside bolt out. There is not enough clearance to the gearbox (DSG).

Most online guides show the other side being done which is easy, and the only thing I have found is in relation to a Passat B6 that suggests undoing the lower engine mount and levering the gearbox forward to give clearance.

Anyone done this job, got any tips?

The lower engine mount in the subframe looks past it's best too but that does look like a world of pain to sort out!
