    Looking for recommendations

A family member is looking for an alternative to SV.
Must have 3 isofix attachments on rear seats
    (3 children under 3 years).
As small as possible due to severely restricted
    parking space on street.
Petrol engine (due to coming ban on all Diesels in Bristol).

Obvious choice would be a Tiguan but suspect
with parking on the street it would be too wide/long (manoeuvring out of
the space with parking both sides of street).
7 seats in total not required.
May be asking too much to find a vehicle that fits the bill.
They do a 5 seat Tiguan but I think the overall body
dimensions are the same as the 7 seat version.

I hope this is not too much off topic but
forum members very helpful and knowledgeable.
    Suggestions appreciated.

Are you thinking of the Tiguan or the Touran?

The Tiguan comes in two versions: the standard is a 5 seater, while the Allspace version is a 7 seater. However the latter is a longer body to the standard Tiguan.

The Touran used to come as a 5 seater or a 7 seater in the same body, but the 5 seat version was discontinued many years ago (probably when the SV was launched?)

Would a Golf estate suit their needs?

There are also Skodas like the Karoq or Yeti, but I seem to recall that they can only take 2 child seats across the rear seat.

    Sorry Touran..
The only car that is almost identical in dimensions to SV
and meet the criteria is Ford C MAX but can't find
any mention of 3 ISOFIX fittings on the rear seats
but just hint at 3 seats (ISOFIX or not) is available as an 'option'
Would have to be 'used' as discontinued Apr 2019.

As a Mk 1 Touran owner I can provide some further info. My 2013 Touran is a 7 seater its the same size as the 5 seater. I have park assist which is capable of getting in and out of some very tight spaces. Although I think you need to use it a bit to trust it. Don't think the Touran is much bigger than an SV. With regard to child seats; in the second (middle) row the 2 outer seats are ISOFIX. The middle seat looks like it could be but isn't. I suspect that the middle seat is identical in size to the outer seats but due to the middle seat requiring a specific seat belt latch setup they cant be swapped around.

The Handbook is quite informative about fitting child seats but as a person without children I've absolutely zero experience of child seats.

The third row of seats, which folds up out of the boot floor, are quite comfortable and have quite a bit of space, you can configure the Touran as a six seater, removing the 2nd row middle seat and moving the two outer seats over towards the middle. This makes it much easier to access the 3rd row, also the 2nd row can be slide forwards and back to make more space in the 3rd row.

With the 3rd row in use there is virtually no boot space, as a 5 seater though there is a massive boot area, which with 3 children under 3 yrs I would imagine is crucial for pushchairs etc.

I don't know if the Mk 2 Touran has more ISOFIX seats.

The Touran is around 175mm longer than an SV, and 20mm wider. But the big problem I have with it is that it doesn't have a spare wheel (or anywhere to put one!)

If that's just my foible then ignore it!

As far as fitting 3 Isofix seats across the back seat, I see that even a Kodiaq only takes two. So I suspect that you'ld need something as wide as an S-Max or Sharan to have fittings for 3 Isofix seats.
