    Dsg reset

    Hi all,
Heard from Lads that dsg have to be reseted every 20k or so.
Car 20k on clock DQ250 and have an issue only before full stop- feels like it still want to go forward (judders a bit before full stop)
As i understand the holding pedals and switching car off and on only will reset it back to learning mode. But basic reset for dsg via Vcds wil reset it properly.
Will it harm the gearbox etc if there is no faults and so on?
Anyone have any experience with reseting dsg?

Which DSG gearbox is fitted 6 speed or 7 speed, what is the transmission/gearbox code of the data sticker?

Data Sticker/Options Sticker and Engine Codes

I haven't come across DSG reset. The 6 speed has the oil and filter changed every 40k.

The 7 speed has a bad mechatronics if the wrong oil is used. New to Golf 1.6Tdi Dsg 2010 on 17k miles. DSG QUESTIONS

G1A isn't transmission/gearbox code of the data sticker?

DSG reset is not something I've ever heard mentioned on this forum until this thread. I have G1A as the code for a 6 speed transmission in my Touran. My DSG has been serviced twice at 36K miles and 70K miles (I prefer to do things a bit earlier than required for longevity). As far as a I know the DSG has not been reset. If you have some problem with the gearbox then have a CAGCOM/VCDS code read would be the best course of action.

What car is this on? On a post a while back you mention a Passat 2.0 TDI 150 ps with DSG gearbox, that had done 100,000 miles. If its this vehicle what is the service history for the DSG box, at 120,000 miles it should have had its 3rd DSG Oil and Filter change by now.

    Keithuk: its SGG
    Touranasaurus:
No Mate it only done 20 000 Miles by now.
I red before in other forums about learning mode on Dsg and find one thread about resseting dsg and start do dig that more and more and find in skoda forums and audi about vcds reset so clutch and other parts can properly adjust to their actual wear. And people reseting them via vcds every 20k so transmission works beter and so on.
Just wanted to find out if its true or can be done without any harm to dsg

And yes, maybe someone knows more about learning mode- is your dsg learns of how you drive all the time or only when comes from factory and by reseting it?

G1A is just the option Pr-code for six speed auto. The DQ250 is a type 02E with various three letter codes but G1A is not one... The VCDS basic settings procure does not need to be done unless the clutch pack is replaced and VCDS does not do it very well in my opinion compared to ODIS.

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.
