Recommendation for 3 children under 3?

Is the Touran suitable to carry 3 children (preferably in 3 isofix seats in the rear 3 seats, not in seat 6 & 7 if
a 7 seater version)? Are 5 seater versions available to max boot space?
Needs to be petrol and probably manual gearbox. Any restrictions on what child seats will fit,
child ages under 6 months, 2 and 2.
Any issues and is the 1.4 TSI petrol engine suitable choice and reliable?
Year 2010 to 2012 or thereabouts with around 8OK miles
    on the clock.

Any user experience and advice on choice appreciated?

Why do you ask about Touran when your car spec says 2014 Golf SV SE 1.4 TSI.

Do you have a Touran or are you asking for someone else?

    Hi Kibby,

Have you seen the Parkers review for the Touran? It says that "You can also fit three Isofix child seats next to each other in the second row, and there are mounts for two in the back seats."

    Full details are at
    https://www.parkers.co.uk/volkswagen/touran/review/

Now that VW have ceased production of the Golf SV, and believe cars should only come in 50 shades of grey, I have ordered a Race Blue Skoda Karoq Sportline as a replacement!

    Thanks for the information.
It seems that the Version 1 Touran 2010-2015 has 2 ISOFIX seats in the second row and 2 ISOFIX seats in row 3.
The Version 2 Touran 2015-2019 has 3 ISOFIX seats in the second row and 2 ISOFIX seats in row 3.
If I have this wrong please update me.

Is their any age restrictions to any of these seats (as I think I read somewhere the 3rd row seats
are not suitable for all the range of ages between 0 and 12....So does anyone have info on this (handbook??).
To maximise luggage space it seems a 5 door Touran 2015 onwards (3 second row ISOFIX seats) would be
    the best compromise.
Would this be correct bearing in mind need to accommodate 2 year old twins and 1 newborn child.
Not sure from research if this option is available (5DR, 3 ISOFIX 2nd row).
Needs to be petrol so choice may be limited.
If have to go with the 7 seat version how would you best distribute the 3 over the 5 ISOFIX seats from row 2 backwards
bearing in mind any age restrictions and safe luggage storage?
    Any advice appreciated.

Did you get the answer you wanted?

Just in case not - The Touran can seat children in all 5 rear seats (row 2 & 3) - all of these seats are isofix - The reason we bought ours is that we have 3 young children also, plus even adults can fit in row 3 fairly comfortably (with some adjustment of row 2 to give more legroom!). We intend to use it as a 5 seater car with a huge boot, with the two row 3 seats there on the odd occaision where they could be useful (grandparents or kid's friends).

Hi Kibby, I got mine for the exact same reasons as DJ. My 2018 also has 5 isofix seatd and 3 seats fit fine in middle row for a 6year, 4year and 9 month old. 3rd row has wider seats and see no reason for any age limitations in any of them.

FYI I was told by the main dealers the earlier models upto 2014 only had 2 in the middle row. There is less legroom in 3rd row so the age limitation may be due to this? Aldo less boot space on the older ones (when 3rd row folded).

Mine is petrol auto but usually drive it in manual mode. No issues several months in. Although its a heavier car so dont expect performance of a golf. Fuel consumption being far from the figures quoted is my only quibble so far. (28-24 as opposed to 44-50) which VW have tested and cant give any explanation.
