2015 Golf Mk 7 Screeching Noise

Last night I heard a loud screeching noise following by an intermittent rattle when pulling away up to 20mph, the noise stopped and started again 3 or 4 times then just stopped (no noise after two days)

There were no warning lights or loss of power, could it have been something as innocuous a stone stuck in the wheel between the brake disc?

That isn't an easy question to answer on a forum.

A screeching noise generally is a fan belt/auxiliary belt slipping or as you say it could be a road chipping catching the brake disc.

Check the belt tension and the brakes?
