    Headlamp issues

Hi all. First post, i am limited in my car knowledge so bear with me please

    2005 Golf Plus 1.6 TDI.

Bought March last year, have had some issues with central locking electrics failing (replaced door lock motors on two doors), but in the last three months had issues with my passenger side headlamp.

Bulb failed about 3 months ago and i went and got it changed. Changed it myself and got the right bulb from halfords. After a week the bulb went again (went out, and the dash light came on advising it'd gone) so i took it out again, put it back in and it worked fine. For about 3 more weeks it was fine then did it again. the bulb itself hasn't gone (and i'm beginning to wonder if the first one actually did too) but there seems to be an issue where its either shaking itself out from connectivity (as the light goes off triggering the dash light) or there is an issue with the electrics

is this a common or known fault and is there anything anyone can advise on regarding how i might diagnose or fix this?

    thanks!

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

How long is a piece of string?

We don't know what has been done and why.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

Not important here but the Golf Plus did not get the 1.6 TDI engine until the mid 2009 facelift.
