Beetle (2000) Vapor Blue Priced Higher ?

    Hi all,

I picked up a 2000 Beetle 1.6L, Petrol, Manual in December as a bit of a project the bodywork is nice but there are a few issues as I've wanted one for a while. Unfortunately it all hinged on a family friend, who's a mechanic, doing the work for me but he's currently having some personal issues so won't be available to do the work for some time. So as I need a daily runner I figure it'll just be easier to sell this on as is and buy another, I've seen a convertible at a dealer close by that fits the bill.

Anyway I picked this one as it seemed to be an uncommon colour, checking the paint code and a quick google suggests it's a Vapor Blue and it was a limited production in some regions ? I was wondering then, when it comes to pricing to sell it should I expect to price slightly higher because of the colour or would this not realistically make any difference ? UK based if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance, have a great one.

The colour code is G5A, sometimes listed as LG5A (L is for Lack or paint) and is called "Cameo Blue" officially. It is an odd colour and not available from VW as a touch up or aerosol.

Yes I was able to find the paint code from the sticker by the spare wheel. I only got the name Vapor Blue from the paintref website so thank you for the correction.

Is the colour likely to impact the value at all ? It seems uncommon but then if nobody cares it doesn't really change anything !

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Your car spec says 0, only what I've added from this post.

Well the hell do members post using the stupid fonts/colours!!! it looks crap. Just use the default ones.

Post moved to the correct section as OP can't read sub forum titles.

Ok well sorry about that, there is clearly some etiquette I was unaware of. I haven't used a forum like this in a long time, simply thought a question would be better suited to the forum pertaining to the car it's about. No harm meant.

Car spec ? Guessing you mean what I see in your footer ? Didn't realise that was a thing that could be added.

Not making a fuss, I'm cool with what you're saying, but people unfamiliar with this format aren't going to know what's expected unless it's spelled out when creating an account.

In terms of font & colours I'm posting from mobile using whatever it defaults to. If it looks weird it's not my doing, I didn't change anything. If this issue has come up before I'd suggest sending feedback to the web dev to look at, it's probably a localised thing to the mobile version ?

Again, sorry, not wanting to get off on the wrong foot or anything.
