Caddy Kombi, interior lights don't come on when doors are opened

Thanks for the add to the forum.

I have just bought a 2015 Caddy Kombi 1.6 TDI. I didn't get a drivers manual with it. I have sussed out how to use the MFD from Youtube. But have another small problem, the interior lights don't come on when I open a door, is there a setting for enabling this or do I have a door switch problem. Lights don't come on for drivers, passengers, sliders or tailgate. They all work using the manual switches. The door open display also show on all doors on the dash board.
Just ordered a drivers manual from flee bay today.

Is the light switch in the right position, it has three; on/off or doors on.

Oh dear! I have just looked at the switch again, and moved the slider to the "open door symbol" the interior lights come on when I open the door and go off when I lock the door with the key fob. Embarrassed ..... Thank you Crasher

Crasher, I may have been too quick announcing my embarrassment! Followed up my quick check on the switch last night by driving today. On the 3 position interior light switch switch, when it is to the left ... door open symbol ... the interior lights come on when I unlock with the key, go off when I lock with the key, but do not go off when driving, I have to switch to the O symbol to turn the lights off when driving. Any ideas. My driver Manual has just arrived from fleebay. It just confirms what was said about the switch.

Start with a fault code scan to see if there are any door controller or body control module errors.

As suggested: You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

Thanks Crasher and Keithuk for the advise.
I have a cheapo OBD scanner - blue tooth to my phone scanner, that I used on my old 2005 T5 when it went into limp mode and displayed the glow plug warning lamp. It shows no error in the log on the Caddy. I guess you will say use the VAG-COM\VCDS Is this something I would have to get done by a VW main dealer or is it something a small independent would have?

VCDS is an aftermarket system that emulates the dealer system, all VAG specialists would have it I imagine and many VAG owning enthusiasts also own it.
