    DSG Gearbox Compatibilities

Just doing some research on second hand compatibilites of DSG boxes, are they interchangeable or not?

For example will MFL,LQV,KQC work in passat B6 2010 which has LTE gearbox.

Very interested to know, has anyone ever tried?

Well all those gearbox codes are 02E Gearbox so they should fit I'm not sure if there is any coding difference maybe Crasher knows.

Working out compatibility of the DSG 0AM series is not easy but the KQC, LQV and LTE are the same box replacement part number ALTHOUGH you may have to get the software updated after installation as there are at least multiple different software levels, such as 01E, 016 and 01C & 00S which depend on which model and make it came from, it was not used in any Seat.

Many thanks Crasher, will the dealers be willing to do software upgrades or local vag independents?

How much do the dealers charge for this upgrade, roughly?

Only independents with full ODIS and security access can carry out Software Version Management, most dealers will be extremely uncooperative.
