2007 Golf Plus Passenger side carpet wet in footwell.

    Hi all,

I have a 2007 MK5 Golf Plus 1.9 TDI. The carpet is damp in the passenger side front footwell in the area where the seat electrics are plugged in. There is a strap which looks like it once held a fire extinguisher maybe? I can put my fingers in a machine cut flap in the carpet and the sound proofing feels wet.
I have cleared the drain holes each side of the windscreen. The rubber seals seem to be in very good order and the pollen filter is clean and dry. I do not have a sunroof. Has anyone else experienced this, can you help please?

With the door design of the Golf Plus 1 and it being the passengers side I would still say heater duct water ingress.

I will have a hunt around. Thank you very much for your reply. Any pictures of the heater duct?

The intake is in the plenum chamber under the windscreen and the chambers drains can get blocked.
