    020 gearbox driveshaft ****** swap

    Hi all

I have a question regarding driveshaft flanges on the ACD and DFN gearboxes (are these called '020' boxes?).

I know that these gearboxes can have 100mm or 90mm driveshaft flanges. If need be, can they be swapped straight over?
i.e. remove the seal, undo the circlip, pull the ******, and slap it straight on the other box in the reverse procedure?

    many thanks in advance

Sorry about the stupid swear filter, the authors of the system obviously don't know that flang3 is a valid technical term as well as being rude.

The flang3 is easily transferred from one box to another, you just need seal kits such as a couple of Febi 15197.

    hey crasher.
In your experience, are the seals for the 90 and 100mm fl4nges the same? the pics on brokeVW shows a similar size 'spline part' of the ****** and it's just the 'shaft mounting' bit that is 10mm larger. i.e. seals for an ACD box and DFN box are the same.

I've been looking for kits but ECP dont show anything and an ebay search or an amazon search looks promising but when my vehicle details are inputted to confirm fitment, i'm told it won't fit.
Can you suggest somewhere else i might try in the midst of this lockdown?

    Cheers mate

I gave you only the seal number, the Febi kit is easy to get from Amazon for 5.20 a side https://www.amazon.co.uk/febi-bilste.../dp/B006DHS5NI

p.s. Renault workshop tool MOT1525 makes a perfect puller to remove the flanges. Piece of cake...
