Connecting Phoe to My New Car

    Good Afternoon all,

my name is Jamie and I have just bought myself my first VW car. I have a 2009 Golf SE Estate 1.4 TDI.

I have been trying to connect my phone to the car via Bluetooth and the media in port but haven't been able to in either case. I have been able to connect it via the aux cord but there was an annoying clicking sound that play over the sound system. if anyone could help I would appreciate that very much!

    Cheers,

    Jamie.

It depends on the cars spec, it may not have the function even tough it has the button, private message me the REG and I can tell you if it was built with Bluetooth.

    Welcome to the forum.

Its nice to see you made an intro on your own.

Its a pity you can't spell Phone.

Do you have a Bluetooth module under the passenger seat?

Adapting phones is a pain in the backside as there are many makes and models. There used to be a VW site that lists all compatible phones which its available anymore.

    Which radio/sat/nav model is fitted?

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

    Thank you,

I have had a look for the Bluetooth module and I can’t find anything under the drivers or passengers seat. That what makes me think that Bluetooth might not have been a feature of this car. Following that thought I bought an iPhone media in cable but the car doesn’t seem to want to connect to the phone. When I plug the phone in, the battery symbol goes “charging” then “not charging” repeatedly.

As for the model of the radio. I believe it the DHL RND 510

    Cheers,

    Jamie.

There is the RCD 500 and RNS 500 but as the S in next to the D on the keyboard I expect you mean RNS500 which is the navigation system which does not sound right so PM me your REG and I can tell you.

It was built with an RNS510 BUT without car phone preparation so you will need to buy a retro fit kit, there are lots available these people have done work for me on customers cars https://www.hazzydayz.com/genuine-vw...fit-1032-p.asp
