    Chip box

Tempted to get a CHIP BOX from RACE CHIP for my 2015 Touareg R line
    https://www.racechip.co.uk/shop/vw/t...3kw-580nm.html

    PROS:
I am sure you can get more power an torque. just put more diesel and air in a turbo diesel engine and you will get better performance
This model comes from one of the biggest names in this sector
Can be removed without living any trace
using TOP CASH BACK you get 11% off so at 140 discounted is a cheap
BTW if you do not use TOP CASH BACK I highly recommend. it works with all major sites and you really can save a lot of money. Register with the link below and both you and I will get 5!

    NEGATIVE
clearly my engine will be pushed to higher limits than VW intended and so there is no doubt more wear if not higher risk of damages
people reporting managing engine light going on at times
    must declare to insurance
I give them the benefit of the doubt but I do not believe the improved MPG. my engine will have more torque since is burning more diesel...and even if they change other parameters I cannot believe VW could not do this themself

HAVE YOU ANY VIEWS/EXPERIENCES WITH CHIP TUNING?

    All the best,

Where tuning boxes are concerned I will only use https://www.steinbauer.cc/gb/vehicles/volkswagen/touareg but I do get a bit nervous now with DPF cars, which engine and EU status is in your car? If you don’t know, private message me the REG or VIN.

thanks. great stuff. mine is a 2015 euro 6 262 hp. I would love one but the risk of messing up things is too big. if it was so easy to add power why vw has not done it?

A HUGE subject that we can tie down to marketing, legislation and the engineers best friend, factor of safety. The old analogy of a 50 watt amp only being allowed to deliver 25 watts because it is cleaner is a good example, yes it could deliver 40 watts or more but it would be distorted and the same goes for any engineering discipline. I sometimes hear people say things like “if the speed limit is 70, why can a car do 140?” and an engineer will immediately say something like factor of safety or twice engineered is half understood... if you design a car to max at 70 it is going to FEEL like doing double, an experience the US car market went though in the 70’s and 80’s that it barley survived.
