    Driver profiles & driving modes

    Hey all,

I've just picked up a 2018 Mk7.5 Golf SE Nav 1.6 TDI. I've set up my profile and set up Individual as I like it set up as I want it. When I get back into the car, it resets itself to Normal. Is this normal? My M7 golf didn't do this. But then it didn't have driver profiles.

I can't really help you much.

    Which radio/sat/nav model is fitted?

Don't you have the radio/sat/nav handbook to look at the settings?

If you say your have set them the next time you look they have been reset.

It isn't normal if you set everything as instructed in the handbook as it should retain the settings even if the battery is disconnected.

You haven't installed any downloaded none OEM sat/nav files have you?

Thanks for your reply. I realised what was happening. When you initially select Individual and set it up, for example (Steering: Normal. Drive: Eco. ACC: Comfort) the gear display shows E1 rather than D1. When you turn ignition off and back on the car stays in Individual mode but display now shows D instead of E. It’s odd it does this as Mk7 didn’t do this. But the drive is still Eco even though it displays D.

Same with my Passat. First time you select the Eco profile, all the gear changes are E1, E2 etc, but after restart, even though it's still in Eco, it shows D1, D2 etc. Seems like a waste of going through the trouble of programming the "E" in the first place.
