    Question Fault codes

    Hi ya guys....

I've just pulled out 3 fault codes from the wifes bug.

    1. 16514 Sensor Circ. Bank1 Sensor1 Malfunction.

    2. 17925 Motonic engine control module power supply relay. Electrical error in circuit

    3. 18057 Databus drivetrain missing message from ABS control module.

My first question is... Can someone put this into English?
    and
Does this have anything to do with the car not keeping a charge over night?

    Thanks in advance.
2008 Beetle Cabriolet 1.6, Petrol Solar,

I'm eternally grateful to VW for putting a spare engine in the front boot as the engine at the back has DISAPPEARED!!!!

    VAG Error Code: 16514/000304
    EOBD II Error Code: P0130

    Fault Location:
Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor 1 (G39), Bank 1 - Malfunction in Circuit

    Possible Cause:
    Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.
    High fuel consumption.
    Excessive smoke from exhaust.

    Wiring/Connector(s).
    Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor heating.
    Inappropriate fuel pressure.
    Faulty fuel injectors.
Intake air leaks may be faulty.
    Exhaust gas leaks.
    Engine Control Module (ECM).

    Possible Solutions:
    Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s).
    Check Inappropriate fuel pressure.
    Check fuel injectors.
    Check for Intake air leaks.
    Check for Exhaust gas leaks.
    Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).
    Check/Replace Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor 1 (G39), Bank 1.
Follow up with Readiness Screen Testing.

    Tech Notes:
Replacing the Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor 1 usually takes care of the problem.

    When is the code detected?:
The response of the voltage signal from the sensor takes more than the specified time.

    Description:
The front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) (or Oxygen (Lambda) O2 Sensor 1) is placed into the exhaust manifold. It detects the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas compared to the outside air. The heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1 has a closed-end tube made of ceramic zirconia. The zirconia generates voltage from approximately 1V in richer conditions to 0V in leaner conditions. The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 1 signal is sent to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The Engine Control Module (ECM) adjusts the injection pulse duration to achieve the ideal air-fuel ratio. The ideal air-fuel ratio occurs near the radical change from 1V to 0V.

    VAG Error Code: 17925
    EOBD II Error Code: P1517

    Fault Location:
Power Supply Relay for Engine Control Unit (ECU) (J271 or J363) - Electrical Malfunction

    Possible Cause:
Power Supply Relay for Engine Control Module (ECM) (J271 or J363) faulty.
Wiring/Connector(s) between Engine Control Module (ECM) (J220) and Power Supply Relay for Engine Control Module (ECM) (J271 or J363) faulty.

    Possible Solutions:
Check/Replace Power Supply Relay for Engine Control Module (ECM) (J271 or J363).
Check/Replace Wiring/Connector(s) between Engine Control Module (ECM) (J220) and Power Supply Relay for Engine Control Module (ECM) (J271 or J363).
Check/Replace Engine Control Module (ECM) (J220).

    Special Notes:
When found in TDI engines in combination with P2146/008518 - Supply Voltage for Fuel Injector Group A: Open Circuit - 009 - Open or Short to earth check the injectors and their wiring as noted Here.

    VAG Error Code: 18057/005705
    EOBD II Error Code: P1649

    Fault Location:
Powertrain Data Bus - Missing Message from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Controller - Implausible Signal

    Possible Cause:
    Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.

Fault Code(s) stored in ABS Control Module (J104)/Brake Electronics Control Module (J104).
Communication Error with ABS Control Module (J104)/Brake Electronics Control Module (J104).

    Possible Solutions:
Check ABS Control Module (J104)/Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) for Fault Codes.
Check Communication with ABS Control Module (J104)/Brake Electronics Control Module (J104).
    Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).
